'LIFE BALANCE' International Exhibition 2013
28th November 2013
THE INTERNATIONAL ART PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION 2013 ‘LIFE BALANCE’
This salon of photography was split into different classes and I was lucky to have 3 images accepted into 2 of the classes.
‘On the South Bank’ was accepted into the class depicting everyday life. The brief they gave was –
‘Our life is composed of many moments that pass unnoticed due to our daily routine. This theme provides the importance to the fragments of everyday life. Sometimes just a moment that lasts for a split second may pass the emotion, show the mental condition, relationships, the way of life, to tell the whole story... the essence of this theme is to show exactly such moments.’
In other words they required you to capture an image as Henri Cartier Bresson would have done when he talked about ‘The Decisive Moment’.
‘Pensive Grey’ and ‘Hairy Biker’ were accepted into the portrait class. For this class the brief was –
‘These are portraits of people. Portraits should emphasize personality and character – a good portrait may tell the whole story about the person who was photographed...’
I am very pleased that these images were accepted and although the other images were not so lucky, they were not far below the accepted score level – HAPPY DAYS!!!!
