Wales and Snowdonia
27th April 2014
Over the Easter period I was on holiday in Snowdonia in Wales. A most beautiful part of the country and even in the most dreadful weather it has a unique beauty of its own. Primarily my trip was a holiday and we were lucky enough to stay in a beautiful mountain cottage with only sheep for company. However, despite it being a holiday it would have been silly not to have got my camera out and taken some shots of the stunning scenery.
I think if you talk to any landscape photographer, they will tell you the best time to get out is just before sunrise and just after sunset – the ‘Golden Hour’. If you are in a location purely for a photo shoot then these are the times when you need to be out to nail that one shot. However, when on holiday, these hours do not figure on my radar, so I made the best of the lighting that I had. We were, however, blessed with the most wonderful weather – deep blue skies with only a few clouds. Great for holidays, but not so great for photography as in the far distance, there was always a haze, making any landscape photography nye on impossible.
Still I managed to grab a few shots, so take a peek at them in my landscape gallery.
